Bishop Fenwick High School (better known simply as "Fenwick") is a private Roman Catholic high school in Peabody, Massachusetts. [1] While located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston, the school is operated independently and with the blessing of the Archdiocese. Students at the school come from many towns and communities on the North Shore, primarily those closest to the campus such as Beverly, Danvers, Lynnfield, Peabody, and Salem.

Bishop Fenwick was established in 1958 by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. It was named after Bishop Benedict Joseph Fenwick. [1]

It is the largest coed high school in the Archdiocese of Boston. Admission is by examination. Classes are grouped homogeneously and heterogeneously. Advanced Placement courses are available in French, Spanish, English Lit/Comp., calculus, biology and US History. Students enroll in AP and Honors courses with the recommendation of each academic department.

The Bishop Fenwick Drama Club has been a well-respected and vital part of the school's artistic landscape. Each year, the Club presents both a fall play as well as a musical in the spring. Most recently, Fenwick audiences have been entertained with spectacular performances of such well-known plays as:

[edit] Athletics

Bishop Fenwick High School's Athletic Program is a co-ed program consisting of twenty-six different sports. On a yearly basis over fifty percent of Fenwick students take part in at least one sport. [1]

The school's teams have won state championships in baseball (2004), football (1965, 1999, 2000), hockey, and indoor and outdoor track in boys' sports.

Girls' teams winning state championships have included softball , field hockey, cross-country track (1980)[2], and indoor and outdoor track.
