Talk:Bird's eye maple

[edit] Mica? Not wood?

The current version describes "bird's eye maple" as having to do with mica, and in this respect seems unique; every other mention of the term that I can find uses it to refer to a type of wood (to wit, maple with markings resembling birds' eyes). Any citations for the mica meaning? Stebulus 18:09, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Should be disambiguated!!

Bird's eye maple is a grain pattern of maple wood, like flame or quilted. A link should be added to the grain patterns section of the maple page.
