Birds enjoy having a bird bath available. During the hot summer months in south Georgia, this bird bath is used daily by a variety of birds including mockingbirds, bluebirds, and house finches.

This was one of a series of photos taken of this mockingbird who spent about five minutes splashing about jumping in and out of the water.

If you look at the grass in the background, you can see that this was a dry time of the year and the grass had gone dormant due to the low rainfall. Even with a small farm pond nearby, birds still came to this birdbath.

This particular birdbath has a somewhat deep bowl so it was partially filled with smooth stones so as to reduce the depth to a more birdlike depth of perhaps four inches.

The birdbath is made from a large glass bowl which is inserted into an anodized aluminum frame. The bowl is not attached to the frame so it is easy to remove for cleaning.
