The Biruaca Municipality is one of the seven municipalities (municipios) that makes up the Venezuelan state of Apure and, according to a 2007 population estimate by the National Institute of Statistics of Venezuela, the municipality has a population of 54,233.[1]. The town of Biruaca is the shire town of the Biruaca Municipality.[2]

The Biruaca Municipality, according to a 2007 population estimate by the National Institute of Statistics of Venezuela, has a population of 54,233 (up from 45,180 in 2000). This amounts to 11.4% of the state's population.[3] The municipality's population density is 68.1 people per square mile (42.34/km²).[4]

The mayor of the Biruaca Municipality is Daniel Blanco, elected on October 31, 2004 with 61% of the vote.[5] He replaced Pedro Agrinzones shortly after the elections.[6] The municipality contains one parish; Urbana Biruaca.[7]
