Birr Town Council

Birr Town Council is a local council for the town of Birr in Co. Offaly. Previously it was known as Birr Urban District Council.

Currently the following are members, along with five others:[1]

  • Tony McLoughlin, Independent
  • Seamus Fanneran, Labour
  • John Carroll, Independent (formerly Sinn Féin), member since 1985[2][3]
  • Eddie Enright, Fine Gael

[edit] Elections

In common with all local assemblies in the Republic of Ireland, every five years an election is held. Deaths and term resignations are replaced by co-option, in agreement of the council.
