Birla Senior Secondary School, also known as BSSS, in Pilani (Distt. Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan) is one of the leading boarding schools in India. Earlier it was known as Birla Higher Secondary School.

BSSS was established in 1901.The school, the oldest Birla Institution in Pilani, was started as a ‘PATHSHALA’ as early as in 1901, by the late Seth Shiv Narayanji Birla for the education of his grandsons late Shri Ghanshyam Dasji Birla and late Shri Rameshwar Dasji Birla. Raised to a true English Middle school in 1916, the school became a pioneer by extending the benefits of English education available to the people of Shekhawati and outlying areas as well.

It rapidly grew into a HIGH SCHOOL (1925) and later on into an INTERMEDIATE COLLEGE (1928). The school was named as BIRLA HIGH SCHOOL in 1943, MULTIPURPOSE HIGHER SEC. SCHOOL in 1959 BIRLA HIGHER SEC. SCHOOL in 1973 and BIRLA SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL in 1977. The BIRLA COLLEGE also in between came into existence in 1943 when University classes were separated from the school. The School is managed and run by the Birla Education Trust.

The school was affiliated to the CBSE[1] in 1985.

This school offers Science and Commerce faculties to its students. As per Indian education system, there are classes from VI to XII.
