Biophysical Society

The Biophysical Society is an organization consisting of over 7,000 researchers in academia, government, and industry. Founded in 1957 by Ernest C. Pollard, the society exists to encourage the development and dissemination of knowledge in biophysics. The BPS sponsors an annual meeting which brings together over 6,000 scientists, making it the largest meeting of biophysicists in the world.[citation needed]
