Bioethics, is the Journal of the International Association of Bioethics. It is a blind peer reviewed journal published by Blackwell Publishing. [1] There are 9 issues of this journal published each year, and it is available both in print and online. The ISI's Web of Knowledge Journal Citation Report rankings for Bioethics for 2006 were:
- 4/28 for 'Ethics';
- 3/7 for 'Medical Ethics';
- 8/26 for 'Social Sciences, Biomedical'.[2]
Bioethics is intended to "[provide] a forum for well-argued articles on the ethical questions raised by current issues such as: international collaborative clinical research in developing countries; public health; infectious disease; AIDS; managed care; genomics and stem cell research. These questions are considered in relation to concrete ethical, legal and policy problems, or in terms of the fundamental concepts, principles and theories used in discussions of such problems." [3]
In 2007, the editors are Professor Ruth Chadwick, Professor of Bioethics at the Centre for Economic and Social Aspects of Genomics (CESAGen) at Lancaster University]][4] and Professor Udo Schüklenk, Professor of Philosophy and Ontario Research Chair in Bioethics at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario.[5]
