[edit] Duplicate images uploaded

Thanks for uploading Image:WED-2007-LOGO.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:WED-2007-LOGO-E-LARGE.jpg. The copy called Image:WED-2007-LOGO-E-LARGE.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 10:30, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Commercial use of Image:Btc logo.gif

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Btc logo.gif, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Btc logo.gif is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Btc logo.gif itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 11:49, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] some concerns

Welcome!

Hello, Billion Tree Campaign - UNEP, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome!  - BanyanTree 11:55, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

I wish to draw two items to your attention:

First, as explained under Wikipedia:User page, user pages may not be used as a personal website. I have therefore blanked your user page. This is a rather extreme measure that I felt was warranted given the extensive series of external links that appeared to violate the policy on spam.

Second, per Wikipedia:Username policy#Inappropriate usernames, accounts with usernames that match the name of a group should be blocked. If you wish to assert that this account is an official public relations account of the BTC campaign, please send an email to either myself or another Wikipedia administrator from an email address that proves affiliation with UNEP. This account may otherwise be seen as an attempt at impersonation. Note that any Wikipedia administrator may block this account under the policy for usernames. In any case, please read the policy Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. I also recommend the unofficial essay, User:Jmabel/PR. Thank you, BanyanTree 11:55, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your user page deletion discussion

Please note that your user page, User:Billion Tree Campaign - UNEP, is the subject of a deletion discussion. Please read our rules for discussion here, before commenting here. Do not remove the deletion notice while the discussion is in progress. Thank you. Resurgent insurgent 10:34, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

  • I recommend finding coverage of the campaign in the press and moving the article to the article space. -N 11:07, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free images (Image:WedLogo2003.jpg and Image:BTC img1.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:WedLogo2003.jpg and Image:BTC img1.gif. The image description pages currently specifies that these images are non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the images are currently orphaned, meaning that they are not used in any articles on Wikipedia.

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Resurgent insurgent 13:33, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] COI Advice

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

Accounts used solely for blatant self-promotion may be blocked without further warning.

For more details, please read the Conflict of Interest guideline. Thank you. Jehochman Talk 20:56, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
