[edit] Jack Crain
Hi Bill -I certainly didn't mean to offend you by rating the article a stub. I thought you did a great job gathering the information together on the Jack Crain article. A stub rating is not by any means a bad thing; it just means the article is short and could be expanded. It's also not a bad thing when someone else works on your article-the point of a wiki is that a collective group of people can make things better than a single editor could. People regularly fix my spelling mistakes and formatting errors, and, when I see an article that needs a little tweaking to meet certain guidelines that I am familiar with but the author may not be, I tend to go ahead and fix it. [edit] How do I reference a book?"
{{helpme}} I am working on the article 'Single-wing' and I am trying to use the book "Football For Coaches And Players" as a reference. I am not getting it. Thanks.Bill Spencer (talk) 15:37, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hello, Bill! See Wikipedia:Citing sources/example style and you will use the template {{Cite book}}. If this does not answer your question, re-add the {{helpme}} template to your talk page. I hope this helps! Regards.--12 Noon 2¢ 16:28, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- How do I refer to a book citation in my article. I need the number [1] in my text to pull up or point to my reference below. By the way I am trying to edit the Single-Wing article with good references, but in the mean time admins keep blistering me with tables that say that the article needs references and may not notable. Every day there seems to be a new label. Also, other editors keep adding new material that appears to be plagerized from online source. It is a mess. Sorry,....just had to vent.Bill Spencer (talk) 17:36, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I am sorry I misunderstood your request. For the numbered references, you want to use Wikipedia:Footnotes, which utilizes the <ref></ref> and <references /> parameters. Now, as far as the copyvio material, and the "unreferenced" templates, a new user seemed to be doing that; I have since removed said material alerted him on his talk page he should not do this. I hope this helps!--12 Noon 2¢ 18:25, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Be patient on Single-wing
I am trying to clean-up this page; however, it is going to take some time for me to get up to speed on citing references.

- For future reference, Wikipedia's very picky about capitalization; Image:Double-wing2.gif =/ Image:Double-wing2.GIF. In any event, there aren't any apparent problems with that image; you seem to have it figured out. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 20:11, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- Any time. Please let me know if there's ever anything else I can help you with. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 20:35, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
