Orphaned fair use image (Image:Plagueofbabies.jpg)
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Plagueofbabies.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Jusjih 02:54, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Zitboy01.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Zitboy01.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jusjih 03:05, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Brian-Lara-1996.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Brian-Lara-1996.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

Yes I didn't realise the region were in alphabet order - I suppose it is more neutral like that rather than regarding the US at the top. Remember though it was me who created the template anyway though Ernst Stavro Blofeld 10:16, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Asian cinema
Hi there!
I have seen you are involved in writing templates for cinema. I would like to consult with you about the classifications we are using. As some one who is working for two years on Iranian cinema, I know that Iranian cinema is a part of Asian cinema and perhaps a significant part of it. A simple google search gives only 500 hints for "Iran & Middle eastern cinema" [1]. While a search for "Iran and Asian cinema" gives around 44700 hints (100 times more) [2]. It means Iranian cinema is known in the world as a part of asian cinema. Categorizing Iran under middle east is simply baseless. I also checked that most of wikipedia articles that define Asian cinema, south asian cinema, etc are not based on reliable sources and most statements are not cited at all. Please let me know about your idea. I do understand that making a template about such a thing is very difficult as there are plenty of overlaps. Also every one knows that Indian culture and Chinese culture are completely different culture while Iranian culture and indian culture are rooted in Indo-Iranian culture. Thanks for your helps. Invader Zim articles
As I recall, you are one of the editors to significantly improve the Zim related articles. As such, I'd like to direct your attention to the various planets, many of which have been tagged for merging into the list of planets. Your comments on the merges would be appreciated. - I'm not too sure what you just said, but I didn't call you any names. I haven't done anything to you except warn you about your conduct towards me which was unacceptable. I am a serious editor here on Wikipedia and being called a sockpuppet is insulting. Just relax and think about what you're doing. More often than not I see you arguing than trying to improve Wikipedia, which is the reason we're all here. ●BillPP (talk|contribs) 02:44, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
The Invader Zim WikiProject
It would be more suited as a task force, don't you think? Also, did you take it to the requests page? You're not supposed to just create the project you know, regards,--$UIT 03:53, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- Greetings, I have been considering asking the manager of the Nickelodeon WikiProject if WPIZ can be merged into it as I've not had the time to work on the project as much as I thought. This is something I may be doing soon. As for the request page, there's a proposal page to gauge support for a WikiProject but there's no request page. I didn't use the proposal page because there are many active Invader Zim editors already. Anyone can go ahead and create a WikiProject if they feel it's necessary. ●BillPP (talk|contribs) 11:55, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

No, thank you BillPP for creating the WikiProject. I think I've been waiting for something like this to be created! L337p4wn 23:18, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

So how do you know those infos in GTA:IV are true I think it's a hoax! The magazine comes out in May ? 2007! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.125.114.250 (talk)
- From what I've read, it's an issue delivered to a subscriber just a bit early than the release date. The official national release date (on sale in stores) is a week away and most of the time subscribers get their copies before that anyway. Despite it being called the May release, it's scheduled for release in April. From what I've seen of it, it doesn't look like a hoax. ●BillPP (talk|contribs) 16:06, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
Ok thank you for clearing that up I also got a tip from R* that these things are true..Did you bleave that it is true or a hoax or your just li8ke me confused and thought it was a hoax till later on.69.205.61.185 23:38, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well when I found out someone had a copy of the magazine and info was being added to the article, I went to GTAforums to see for myself and yep they did have photos of an actual magazine. The next thing I did was have a conversation with the helpful people who work on the Wikipedia reliable sources guideline to see if it was an acceptable source. I was fairly confident it was all true though because it would take some skill and money to pull of a convincing fake magazine which would be revealed as false in less than a week. ●BillPP (talk|contribs) 00:02, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
Creating a storyline for the series???
This conversation has been recompiled from multiple talk pages for archive purposes

Do you think the Grand Theft Auto Series should have a storyline article??? VidGmr 19:25, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- Interesting idea. Perhaps. I'm not sure it's been done before, so I'm curious as to how you envisage the article. .:Alex:. 19:43, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

- Hi VidGmr, I've just read through your story and I thought I'd give you my opinion. I'm not answering for Alex by the way. As comprehensive as this is, I don't think it's right for Wikipedia. The reasons are that the plots are already featured on each of the games' articles, also even though the storyline is from the games, it's put together and formatted as a story you've written yourself so I don't think it would be appropriate for Wikipedia. ●BillPP (talk|contribs) 14:12, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

- Why wouldn't it be??? VidGmr 15:25, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Vidgmr, the reasons I don't think the story is appropriate for wikipedia are based around the fiction policies that can be read at WP:FICT, in particular point 4 of the Fiction in Wikipedia section where it says "It is generally appropriate for a plot summary to remain part of the main article, not a lengthy page of its own." Also point 7. Plot Summeries on the What Wikipedia is not page here WP:PLOT. I also think it's unencyclopedic in tone (see WP:TONE here). I hope that answers your question. ●BillPP (talk|contribs) 16:00, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thats what I mean, "Plot". But, I quite had given up on Wiki anyways since there's been a lot of confusion and warring, as I witnessed. VidGmr 19:12, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Pilot01.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Pilot01.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 18:34, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 18:58, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Tak01.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Tak01.jpg.
