There's not much out there regarding Bailey's birthdate, but this article from CNN published in 1996 suggests it's 1947. If anyone can find something more definitive saying he was born in 1946, please change it back. justsomechick·chat·stuff 21:48, 30 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Detail

Is it just me or does this go into, at times, almost lurid detail? Besides the question of "Do we really need to know?", I'd like to know exactly HOW whoever added that knew that. Comments? 68.39.174.238 00:41, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

I agree. Who needs to know how many times his body rotated? Come on. 09:40, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

The extended quote, presumably by the somewhat deranged sounding great-grandson, also seems a bit unneccesary. and completely bizarre.

This subject is of interest in the death penalty debate, especially as it was the last hanging in the United States. Comparing different methods is of strong relevance especially as the method of lethal injection has come under strong legal fire in the last few years. Of course, also keep in mind that "Wikipedia is not censored" is one of the main principles of Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:CENSOR#Wikipedia_is_not_censored StaticElectric (talk) 23:51, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] plagiarism

I became suspicious after reading the line "six coil noose swaying in the night breeze". To me that sounds more like a piece of literary journalism rather than an encyclopedic entry. After entering the whole line in quotation marks on Google, the above listed web page comes up. It seems that the whole section on execution in this article was stolen from the above website.
