[edit] Identity confusion

From personal correspondence with one of Bill Parry's former students (email forwarded on request)

"The W. E. Parry who was a mathematics tutor at Oriel College was an entirely different person [to the subject of this article]. I'm not entirely sure of Bill's retirement date: he was 65 in 1999 but had a contract to age 67. You are certainly right that he taught until 2003, indeed he was working on mathematics until the time of his death."
