Talk:Bill Knapp's Restaurant

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

People from the midwest know this chain well. I am presently finding references to support this. Please do not delete it, at least not "speedily"

From 1973 to 1978 I worked for Bill Knapp's during high school and college. I worked in five of the restaurants, ate in more than 30 of them, and toured the commissary as a management trainee. I have attempted to copy many of the items that Bill Knapp's offered in my home kitchen and for large church functions. The food still receives numerous compliments. It truly was a mid-west culinary institution. Many of their unique store fronts continue to be occupied by other restaurants. I came across this wikpedia article while searching for copy cat recipes of popular Bill Knapp's items.

[edit] POV

In the meantime, while finding sources, can you remove the blatant POV advertisement-like statements about the chain?

Hi. I'm just summarized what people say about the restaurant, see the references. I could hardly be "advertising" since the chain is long dead and lives only in the memory of those who loved it, of which there are very many, as I think the references show clearly and convincingly. FWIW, I do not have any ownership or other relationship with this chain, I just ate there a few times when driving through michigan, was impressed, and recently decided to to "look it up". Having done so, I get feeling there are very many people that might want to know what's up with Bill Knapp's, and would appreciate a wikipedia article about it. But, if you want to delete my attempt to make one, I can't stop you, but I think you would be making a mistake. Ipthief 03:44, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
