Billy McKinney is a former American politician from the U.S. state of Georgia. A Democrat, McKinney served in the Georgia House of Representatives. McKinney is the father of former United States Representative from Georgia Cynthia McKinney.
Interstate 285 ("the Perimeter") is known as the "James E. "Billy" McKinney Highway" between I-20 in northwest Atlanta and I-75 near Cumberland Mall.
In 2002, when asked about Cynthia McKinney using an old endorsement in her failing primary campaign, he explained that the endorsement would not matter because "Jews have bought everybody."[1] When asked to explain his daughter's political difficulties, he responded: "J-E-W-S."[2] Cynthia McKinney lost her congressional seat in 2002, regained it in 2004, and lost it again in 2006. In both losses, she was eliminated during the Democratic primary.
