Billie Letts

Billie Letts (born in Tulsa, Oklahoma)[1] is an American author. Earlier she worked as a professor at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She was married to professor-turned-actor Dennis Letts until his death in 2008, and is the mother of Dana Letts, playwright and actor Tracy Letts and jazz musician and composer Shawn Letts.[2][3]

Letts was born Billie Gipson[1] in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She married her husband, professor and actor, Dennis Letts, in 1958. [1] He served as Billie Lett's editor for her novels.[1][2] The couple had three sons - Tracy, Dana and Shawn.[2] Dennis Letts died of cancer in Tulsa on February 22, 2008.[1][2]She was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.
