Bill Trinen

Bill Trinen is a video game translator who mainly works for Nintendo of America. He also does certain Nintendo press conferences and acts as an interpreter. Bill Trinen has been involved in the translation of a wealth of Nintendo 64, GameCube, and Game Boy titles. He began his job at Nintendo of America by translating debug reports on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time[1], and then right after that he got hired on full time in the localization group. He describes one of the things he must do as part of his job, "We also help explain to people at Nintendo what the cool new features of the games are and points to focus on in PR and marketing and things like that." Trinen began studying Japanese while in high school. He continued his studying on through college. He even studied a year overseas in Tokyo, Japan, and lived in Shibuya.
