Bill Spaulding was the head football, basketball and baseball coach at Western State Normal School (now known as Western Michigan University). He coached football, men's basketball and baseball simultaneously at Western State Normal from 1913 through 1921.

Spaulding coached the football team from 1907 until 1921. During his tenure, Spaulding was 62-25-3 (.706), including three undefeated seasons (1909, 1913, 1914).

Spaulding was the first head coach for the Western State Normal School men's basketball program. From 1913 through 1922 he compiled a 77-43 (.642) record, finishing .500 or higher in each of his nine seasons.
