Bill Schanes (b. 1957/58) and his brother Steve Schanes co-founded Pacific Comics in 1971. Pacific Commics was an early pioneer in the direct market method of selling comic books which collapsed in 1984. Schanes joined Pacific's successor, Steve Geppi's Diamond Comic Distributors company in 1985 and is currently Vice President for Purchasing.
