Bill O'Brien (born October 23, 1969 in Andover, Massachusetts) is a current American football wide receivers for the New England Patriots of the National Football League. He was previously the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Duke University.

O'Brien attended Brown University in Rhode Island where he played defensive end and linebacker for the Bears from 1990 until 1992.

O'Brien's first coaching position was at Brown, where he coached tight ends in 1993 then inside linebackers in 1994. He would then spend the next three seasons (1995-1997) as an offensive graduate assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He then coached the Yellow Jackets' running backs from the 1998 season through 2000 season. From 2001 to 2002, O'Brien served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach and was named an assistant head coach for the 2002 season. In 2003, he left to coach running backs at the University of Maryland, spending two seasons there before being named the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Duke in 2005.

After two seasons with Duke, O'Brien was hired by the New England Patriots on February 27, 2007 as an offensive assistant[1]. On February 21, 2008, O'Brien was promoted to wide receivers coach[2].
