William Jules Filante (died December 1992) was an American physician who served in the California State Assembly from 1978 to 1992. A Republican, he was nevertheless able to win in otherwise Democratic-leaning Marin and Sonoma counties, thanks to his moderate voting record. He ran for Congress in 1992 but lost to Democrat Lynn Woolsey. He was unable to campaign and later died of a brain tumor.
