Bill Duffy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bill Duffy is one of the best known agents representing players in the National Basketball Association. His BDA Sports Management company represents stars such as Yao Ming, Steve Nash, Carmelo Anthony, and Greg Oden.[1][2][3] Duffy is himself a former basketball player; he competed at the collegiate level for Santa Clara University, and was selected by the Denver Nuggets in the fifth round[4] of the 1982 NBA Draft (the team's fourth pick that year).[5] He currently resides in Walnut Creek, California.

In the summer of 2003, Duffy was criticized because his office failed to file the correct paperwork for Anthony Carter to exercise his player option with the Miami Heat, costing him $4.1 million.[6] However, Carter has remained with Duffy, who apparently took responsibility for the oversight and largely repaid Carter out of his own pocket.
