Bill Dempsey

Bill Dempsey is a former Australian rules footballer who played for West Perth in the WAFL during the 1960s and 70s. A ruckman, Dempsey played a total of 343 games for the club before retiring in 1976.

Dempsey joined West Perth from Darwin, winning their best and fairest award in 1966 and a Simpson Medal in 1969. He was a member of premiership teams in 1969, 1971 and 1975. At interstate level he represented Western Australia 14 times. In 2005 he was named in the back pocket in the official Indigenous Team of the Century.
