Bill’s House is the 189th episode in the FOX comedy animated TV series King of the Hill.

[edit] Plot

Hank, Bobby, and Peggy all have the flu. When Hank leaves the house to get his prescription for flu medicine, he passes out next to his truck. Bill carries him home and takes care of the Hills until they are healthy again.

When they recover, Bill realizes taking care of others is something he enjoys greatly and looks for other opportunities. He applies for a job helping recovering homeless alcoholics, and after being informed the halfway house is full, volunteers to keep them at his house. At first Bill thrives in his work, but soon finds the burden too great.

Hank comes to help but the two men are unable to manage the entire share of their work when even more patients are dropped off at Bill's house after the halfway house is closed down. Hank drives to the house of the manager of the halfway program, Mr. Draper. Draper says the funding for the "opportunity house" was not enough, and had to shut it down.

Hank returns to Bill despondent. Hank later learns from Bill however that the government sends each of Bill's patients stipends of $600 monthly, which were all being given to Draper. Hank has them sign over the checks to Bill instead. With enough money, Hank and Bill rent a house for the alcoholics across the street from Draper.

Hank places Draper in charge of taking care of the alcoholics, with Bill only dropping by occasionally. Forced to do the work Hank and Bill were, Draper decides to re-open the halfway house.

[edit] Errors

  • In this episode Peggy does not know how to ride a bike, however in an earlier episode she used Bobby's bike to transport a stolen turkey to her hairdresser's house.
