Biju is a popular boys' name in India, especially southern states like Kerala. The most common meaning associated with this name is the French word bijou, viz "Jewel" in French.

However, from an Indian context Biju is probably a name derived from a similarly rhyming name Viju. In eastern Indian states such as West Bengal and Orissa, B is very often phonetically substituted for V. It is highly likely that Viju itself is an affectionate version of the name Vijay which means Victory in Sanskrit and several Indian languages.
Similar names, without any meaning, have arisen from this name such as Riju, Tiju, Liju, Jiju, Shiju, and even Iju (pronounced /aɪdʒuː/).
