Talk:Big Bay Point Light

[edit] Focal Plane
This lighthouse sits on a 100 foot high bluff. The National Park Service Inventory has a listing that consists of the base of the tower to the middle of the lens. The more relevant number is the actual height above mean water level, which is what I have references. See the discussion at the Terry Pepper database for more detail. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 12:50, 2 June 2008 (UTC) Stan
[edit] "Deactivated"
My reading of the links (including Volume 7 of the Coast Guard Light List and the NPS Inventory of Historic Lights) suggests that this lighthouse was deactivated, sold, the Fresnel lens was recovered and reinstalled, and that this light is still an active aid to navigation (albeit privately owned). I don't know how to this precisely fits into the infobox format. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 13:02, 2 June 2008 (UTC) Stan
