The Big State League is a proposed new independent baseball league to be operated in the state of Texas, scheduled to begin play May 2008. It will not be affiliated with Major League Baseball.
In 2006, the Big State League announced plans for six to eight teams in the "big state", to restore minor league baseball in remaining towns vacated by the Texas League and the Central League not already taken by the American Association and the United League.
