Big Sky Conference Women's Basketball Tournament

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Big Sky Conference's Women’s Basketball Tournament has existed since 1983. The winner of the tournament receives The Big Sky's automatic bid into the NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Championship.

Prior to 1983, no tournament was played. Since the tournament's inception, each match-up has always been contested on the home court of the higher seed. Starting in 1986, an MVP was selected at the conclusion of the championship game. In 1989, the conference added All-Conference Team honors, in addition to the MVP.
