[edit] Overview
The 4077th is chosen for a great honor: A personal visit from General MacArthur, who wants to commend them on their medical successes. MacArthur's aide Colonel Whiteman comes to the camp to brief the M*A*S*Hers on what to expect. Radar doubles for MacArthur during practice ceremonies, while the VIP tent is prepared for the General's arrival. Corporal Klinger wants to greet "Big Mac" in his own special way, with a flower girl or geisha outfit just for the occasion, but Colonel Blake refuses, having two MPs drag him out of sight.
While the camp is still practicing, MacArthur arrives early. As it turns out, he does not have time to even stop, and simply rides through the camp in a Jeep, while he studies battle plans. The only member of the company he notices is Klinger, who got away from the MPs and donned a Statue of Liberty costume, with sparklers for a torch. Rather than finding Klinger offensive, or odd enough for a psychological discharge, MacArthur salutes him, and continues on his way.
