Big Gates Records

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Big Gates Records is a record label founded by Ronell Lawrence Levatte and Plies.

Levatte, along with his brother, Plies started Big Gates Records in 1999. Levatte served as CEO, President, among other things, while Plies initially developed the label's artists. Big Gates Records also contracted national rap artists[who?] to perform in Southwest Florida venues.

Plies initially refused to rap, however after a demonstration for one of his artist, Ronell kept Plies on the track for "Tell Dem Krackers Dat". Levatte and Plies worked hard promoting the single and traveled many times to Miami. This eventually led to a deal for Plies on Slip-N-Slide Records. [1]

After the success of Tell Dem Krackers Dat, Big Gates Records would go on to release two more Plies mixtapes, including 36 Ounces, and 100% Real Nigga.
