Big Fight Special was an episode from the first series of the BBC Comedy KYTV, originally shown in 1990.
This particular show concentrated on the KYTV approach to major sporting events as the main feature was a boxing match. Throughout the show, the bout's theme tune was being played as background music. The track was nothing more than a parody of the Rocky III theme tune Eye of the Tiger as the tune was not only similar in its melody and time signature, but its name was Nose of the Leopard.
The outsider contender was played by Philip Pope who arranged all the show's music. His opponent was a stereotype through his appearance, and to add KYTV style comedy, it came as no surprise that he was raised on the streets of Detroit, until it emerges that his parents owned a large house in Chicago. Guest commentator for the show alongside Mike Flex was the man they all called Mr.Boxing (Henry Boxing).
