Jiří "Big Boss" Valter is the vocalist for the Czech black metal band Root.

[edit] Biography
Big Boss was born in Czech Republic in 1952 to pianist Milan Valter. In 1987, when playing in band Vega, he met guitarist Petr Hošek, with whom he later founded black metal band Root. Root recorded their first demo Deep in Hell in 1988. In 1990 the band released debut album called Zjevení (Relevation). Big Boss launched his side project Equirhodont with his Root bandmates Ashok and Igor in 2002. In addition to his activities with these two bands, he has also recorded two solo albums.
He lists The Beatles, Beach Boys, Chris Farlowe, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Lynne and Electric Light Orchestra and Vanilla Fudge to be his main influences.

Big Boss had been introduced to Satanism by certain Satanist from America in 70th. In 1991 he founded Czech branch of CoS. [1] He claims [2] to have been appointed High Priest of CoS by Anton LaVey.
