Its location and extent varied over time but usually reached broader west as on the map here. The original map was not copyrighted by SU although was secret. The maps are hold by sunsite.berkeley.edu without any permit ions of originator. Anyway the SU do not exist and usually materials created by government agencies are not copyrighted, created by people government for people. Because SU was 'the most people’s government' this rule may be applied. There is no section for other governments so the best categorization match is US government.
