[edit] Huh?

Something in layman's terms would be nice. Why is this important?

I've added some material which partly explains the importance of the bicommutant, although I admit it's not particularly accessible to the layman. Looking at the material, I can't see any way of making it more accessible. Apart from anything else, I'm not sure this article would be of interest to someone not already familiar with the technical concepts used, and I can't envisage any way of rewriting it without those concepts.
If, however, you are layman with an interest in this article, it'd help to know where your interests lie, what particular part of the article is difficult, and what you already know; I don't think it's possible to rewrite the article so that everyone would understand it, but if there's some area of, say, engineering or physics, or even some unrelated area of maths, where these ideas would be useful, then I might be able to put it into more familiar language for those people.
All the best. James pic 11:55, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
