The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia (BCGP) is a nonprofit advocacy group working to improve conditions for bicyclists in the Greater Philadelphia region through advocacy and education. The BCGP was founded in 1972 and has a paid membership of 1,500. The BCGP also supports efforts to create complete streets, and calm traffic.
In 2006 the Bicycle Coalition began planning Bike Philly 2007; a closed roads ride running through the heart of Philadelphia in the style of Chicago’s annual Bike The Drive.
