Rebeccah commands Jacob to flee to the house of her brother, Laban, until Esau's rage subsides. En route to Haran, Jacob experiences a vision in which he beholds a ladder reaching into heaven with angels going up and down it, a vision that is commonly referred to as Jacob's Ladder. From the top of the ladder he hears the voice of God, who repeats many of the blessings upon him.
