Bhong

Bhong is a small but important town of Rahimyar Khan District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is a Union Council of Sadiqabad tehsil[1] (Urdu for subdistrict) and is located 200 kilometres away from Bhawalpur at 28° 25' 0" North, 69° 55' 0" East[2]. Bhong is the ancestral land of the Indhurs of Rajput descend who migrated from Jasalmir (India) and settled down in this region.

Bhong is notable for the Bhong Mosque, the only mosque in Pakistan which received the "Agha Khan Architectural Award". This mosque is very beautiful and is a tourist attraction, it was built by Rais Ghazi Muhammad Indhur built. There is also a charity trust hospital "AlGhazi Trust Hospital" [3] in Bhong built by Rais Wazir Ahmed Indhur who is the son of Rais Ghazi Muhammad.

Another famous son of Rais Ghazi is Rais Shabbir Ahmed. He has been an influential political figure of Sadiqabad. Dr Rais Nasir Mahmood Indhur & Rais Ibrahim Indhur are the son of Rais Wazir Ahmed Indhur. Dr Rais Nasir Mahmood has a son by the name of Rais Mohammed Ahmed Indhur who is still studying but is active in village matters. Rais Mohammed Ahmed is the only son of Dr Rais Nasir Mahmood Indhur.
