Bhoj Reddy Engineering College for Women is run by Sangam Laxmibai Vidyapeet, a registered voluntary social action group working for empowerment of women and girls through education since 1952. The Vidyapeet manages four other educational institutions viz MH Gupta High School for Girls, Sangam Laxmibai Junior College for Girls, KV Ranga Reddy Degree College for Women and Bojjam Narasimlu Pharmacy College for Women and has 56 years of experience in the field of education. Dr Ramlakshmi, a physician and an experienced administrator, is the President of Vidyapeet.

Dr N C Eswar Reddy, the Principal of the College, is a former Principal of SV University College of Engineering, Tirupati, with more than 30 years of teaching and administrative experience.

The College was established in 1997. The engineering college is managed by an executive committee consisting of persons with long experience in the field of education. Within a short period of ten years, it has emerged as one of the premier engineering colleges in the state.

The JNTU has accorded permanent affiliation for all B Tech courses for a period of three years from the academic year 2007-08.

This institute is one of the premier engineering colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh and admission to this college is through the common entrance test EAMCET(Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test) conducted annually by the JNTU, Hyderabad.
The college has introduced two new courses from 2006 onwards namely, MBA(Master of Business Administration) and MCA(Master of Computer Applications).

Mr JBV Subrahmanyam an M Tech in Electrical Engineering is the Training and Placement Officer who looks after the training and placement activities at Bhoj Reddy Engineering College for Women. He is having rich experience in placements, Engineering, software industry, training, teaching and consultancy. The college celebrated its Annual Day on February 2nd, 2008. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr.Chenga Reddy, Honourable Minister for technical educat State Government. The minister gave away the annual merit awards. The Principal, Prof.Eshwar Reddy as well as the President Ms.Ramalakshmi addressed the gathering of students and parents.

Recently, the department is organized a National Level Technical Fest `Jijnasa 2008’ for EEE students on 14-15 March, 2008 in association with IEEE student branch. Jijnasa-2008 is aimed at promoting the habit of enquiry and learning, and of thinking and creativity, among engineering students, and makes them confident and capable of contributing to the development of the world. With this aim, Jijnasa-2008 includes the following events

  • Paper presentation by students preceded by peer lectures
  • Poster presentation
  • Demonstration of working models
  • A competition in simulation and programming
  • Technical Quiz

The college rated No 1 rank among the affiliated colleges of JNTU in Andhra Pradesh for overall pass percentage of all branches and all years.[1]

Ms Padmni Gorty of this college is the best outgoing student of Computer Science & Engineering out of all JNTU affiliated colleges and she received the University Gold Medal in the XXIV Convocation-2008 which was held in April 2008. She also received Dr Mohd Vizarath Rasool Khan, Shadan Group Endowment Gold Medal for the same.
