[edit] Carry the bat

Since that page appears to have been removed from CI, you can replace it with http://web.archive.org/web/20070623145944/http://www.cricinfo.com/db/STATS/FC/BATTING/BAT_CARRY_BAT_TWICE.html (it works for me, just make sure that it does for you too).

Just click the edit on top of Carry the bat, or the one just above references, replace the link, click preview to make sure that it looks fine, add something like "replaced dead link" in the edit summary and "save page". Tintin 00:29, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Raman Lamba

Was playing in Dhaka League when he died in 1998. Hadn't played ODIs/Tests since 1989. Tintin 00:30, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Joseph Wells

My suggestion is to create an article in your user space ( User:Bharath628/Joseph Wells ) and after it reaches a decent shape, move it to the article space. There is already an article about an obscure athlete at Joseph Wells, so this probably have to share the space with it. We can manage that later.

For now, let's do it at User:Bharath628/Joseph Wells. The Wisden obituary is at http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/wisdenalmanack/content/story/237637.html . Add the main text, an infobox like the one you see at Stan Squires, references etc. There are people who are pretty good at certain areas. For Wells, if you need help User:Johnlp and User:Jhall1 are probably those best suited. Drop me a message any time you need help, and please don't use that three letter word ! Tintin 07:23, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

If you look at the articles in the Jhall1's page, you will get an idea of what a typical article of an early English cricketer will look like. It needs to be more descriptive that Jupp. For infobox, go to a page like Stan Squires mentioned above, click "edit", and it will show what the contents of an infobox are. Copy it to your article and modify it with the data for your cricketer. When in doubt about how to do something, you can refer existing articles in the same way (by using the edit button) to see how they have done it. I made a start on User:Bharath628/Joseph Wells. You can expand it the way you like, and we can move it to Joseph Wells when finished. Just go ahead and experiment. Since it is in your user space, you can do whatever you like and don't have to be afraid of making mistakes. Tintin 01:45, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Re Grundy, you can add. Please also make sure that you add a source, so that people may not revert it. Add references in this format - at the end of the line write <ref> [http://cricinfo.com/xyz.html Title of the article] <ref> Add a section for references (create another title like the external sources or further reading currently there). Under it write {{reflist}} . Do preview to make sure that you have done it properly. Tintin 09:45, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
No, I'll mail you a better one tonight. Tintin 14:28, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
You can give Wisden 1991 page 154 at the citation for Grundy. The newer Wisdens don't have the list of all handled the balls, and I don't have any editions between 1991 and 2004. For the quiz questions, it says among others and doesn't claim that it is a complete list. Tintin 04:23, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
