Bhaun

Bhaun is a town in Chakwal District in the Punjab province of Pakistan, it is located at 32°52'0N 72°45'0E,[1] 75 kilometres away from capital Chakwal.[2] In 2007 Pakistan Railways announced the resumption of the Bhaun to Chakwal service.[2]

During British rule, Chakwal was a tehsil of Jhelum District, the population of Bhaun according to the 1901 census of India was 5,340.[3]

On 17 July 2001 an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck near Bhaun, its effects were felt in the capital Islamabad and in the city of Delhi in neighbouring India.[4]
