Bhargava (Devanagari: भार्गव) is a name mainly used by Indians. In mythology Parashuram was called as Bhargava.
[edit] First Name
Bhargava is also a first name. It is one of the 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu. He is the son of Sage Jamadagni and Renuka. He was a manifestation of the ultimate divinity's need to balance 'dharma' and 'adharma' (harmony and disharmony) and consequently visited justice on many kings who had been abusing their power or had lost a hold on their ethics as protectors of their dominions. His time of activity comes to a close when he encounters Lord Rama (another of the avatars of Lord Vishnu).
Bhargavs and Bhargavas are often called "BG" as Bhargav Adireddy is affectionately called.
