[edit] Political positions

[edit] Reservations Policy

The party is determined to eliminate all man-made social differences and evolve a society where equality of opportunity is guaranteed in every walk of life in theory and practice.

The policy of reservation, conceived at the time of framing the Constitution with the objective of eliminating social, educational and economic disparities between different caste groups, has totally failed to achieve its stated objective. Instead of eliminating the differences, identities along the caste lines have got consolidated and are gradually becoming more assertive.

Thus the Party stands against the concept of caste based reservations as a policy tool to bridge the gap between different caste groups. Instead certain resources of the state can be reserved for economically disadvantaged. It is thus proposed:

Reservations, if required, should be based on economic status and not caste.

The criteria for availing the benefits of reservations could be made commensurate with the income tax exemption limit. In other words those who are exempted from paying income tax can avail the facility of reservation. Making use of this benefit if their income crosses the exemption limit they will not be allowed to make use of the benefits under the policy of reservation further.

The Income Tax structure especially the exemption limit is to be revised to make it more in tune with reality.

[edit] Article 370 of Indian Constitution

Article 370, which grants special status to the State of Jammu and Kashmir should be annulled. This article and the all the legislation deriving their authority from the Article are a blot on the very concept of equality.

[edit] Nuclear Agreement

Party is against the current nuclear agreement and it and will oppose it because Party is against the current form of nuclear agreement as it is against the national interest, taking into account the Hyde Act, no guarantee off Feul Supply and Economically costing twice the rate, no eco friendly and even if installed will reach only 7% of installed capacity of power in India by 2025 which is very less and finally the deal cannot be looked into isolation as it will hamper India's Foreign policy due to US factor

[edit] Ram Setu

Threat to National security:>Once the canal is created, it will create an international boundary between India and Srilanka and so will the waters will be international waters (currently they are historic waters) which US so wants to declare it so they can park their battleships in those waters.

  • Economic loss:> The area is full with Thorium reserves are extremely important for our nuclear reactors as a fuel. Shell fishing industry of Rs100crores+.
  • The project itself is not economically viable since its a 150year old idea for 150year old ships.
  • National instability>due to sentimental factor,
  • Environmental factor>Tsunami prone area.
