Adapted from Wikiacc's user page

I am a Norwegian who speaks Norwegian (Surprise, surprise) natively and a few other languages.

I first found Wikipedia in the spring of 2004, but did not make my first edit until July 2004. This account was created on July of that year.

I'm currently a student of applied mathematics at the University of Oslo and writes my master thesis on a new metaheuristic for the feature selection problem (A combinatorial optimization problem). I started out as a computer science student, but got more interrested in math along the way. I've studied fields ranging from operating systems and databases on the informatics side to numerical analysis and statistics on the math side. My main interrest is image analysis.

I've got a strong interest in history (my favourite subject in high school) and also a great love for languages (I did my A-levels in French and German). I've a big dislike for TV-sports except for a character flaw when it comes to big engines and cycling. Sports are meant to be practiced, not watched.

On the political side I'm a liberalist who believes in a minimalistic state, which keeps to governing solely personal interactions of juridical persons and running public services which cannot easily be financed through other means (or such financing would be truely ineffiecient). I'm the former leader of EFNU, the youth chapter of EFN, a norwegian sister organization to the better known EFF.
