Bezdead is a commune(town) in the N-E of Dambovita county in Romania. Bezdead is a Subcarpathian town, dominated by abrupt hills and spectacular valleys and forrests. It is 10 kilometers away from Pucioasa town (to the South) and right between Ialomita and Prahova Valleys (15 km to each). Bucharest is 120 km away, Targoviste, the county seat is 30 km away. The neighbours are Buciumeni to the in W, Ursei to the E, Breaza to the NE and Miculesti(Pucioasa) to the S. Only the road to Pucioasa has some poor quality asphalt, half way to Buciumeni is in better condition, the road to Breaza is a challenge for cars and the road to Ursei is not usable by cars. Builing the road to Breaza is one of the main projects currently undertaken. The town itself runs parallel to the river Bizdidel for 12 km. There is a main street that goes along with the river (Strada Principala) and several side streets(ulite) running along the valleys formed by small affluents flowing into Bizdidel. The best known are Valea Leurzii, Valea Barzii, Valea lui Coman, etc.
