[edit]  »Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain«

Barcelona, Spain really should be enough (and Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain would be much more appropriate from a formal point of view). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.141.104.191 (talk) 10:00, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] filmography

someones moved the filmography from its original place, ive tried sorting it out but it didnt work please someone do it lol. also someone keeps removing 'Aida' from it when it was announced officially that she is in talks about it and to star alongside 'Christina Aguilera'.

[edit] Why is my page edit getting deleted ???

someone deleted my minor edit on Beyonce making 80 million dollars in 2007. Check forbes.com , its true. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mybiggestfan123 (talkcontribs) 12:48, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WHISTLE REGISTER

Beyonce is capable of the whistle register. Go to youtube.com and Best of Beyonce's The Technique edition and it shows you her highest and lowest notes. ALSO, just type in Beyonce Vocals and you will see a lot of vidoes just for her vocals. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lanairamaadlett (talkcontribs) 19:02, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Singles Chronology

i dont know why but while ive been on vacation the order of all of beyonces singles have been rearranged. ive fixed it according to all the actual release dates. 71.42.177.194 20:05, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

thanks it was annoying me that lol.

[edit] 12 vs twelve

I remember learning in high school English that it is standard form to write out numbers from 'one' to 'ten' and give the numberals for 11 and up. So it should be 12, not twelve. Carl.bunderson 01:52, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

The usage of spelled out numbers is more suitable on Wikipedia. Funk Junkie 21:09, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orlando fall

I said this on Kelly Rowland's page also, but is it really necessary to mention these incidents in encyclopedias? I don't think that would be mentioned in a printed encyclopedia...Jdot01 22:30, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

i feel it should be mentioned but maybe in as much detail as it is, it's not exactly a highlight of her career. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.241.82.179 (talk) 19:50, August 28, 2007 (UTC)

I think the fall should be mentioned. Not just because it was a fall, but because she had her legal guys step in if it wasn't removed from websites. That's what made it an issue. I like Beyonce, but if she would have just left it alone, it would be nothing to talk about. Besides, if you read Whitney's, Madonna's, or Mariah's articles, there are things there that would never be in an encyclopedia. So mentioning the fall would be no different. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.192.176.30 (talk) 20:30, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

There are no reliable sources given for that information. In accordance with WP:BLP, I have removed the information. It should not be re-added until it has been sourced. Acalamari 20:36, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

I think the fall should be mentioned. The media made a big deal about it. Beyonce is known to be a good performer/dancer so this is a notable incident. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shoop85 (talkcontribs) 02:35, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "Philanthropy" section; "Stand up for Love"

This wikipedia article currently claims that Beyonce co-writes the song 'Stand up for Love'. According to the Destiny's Child #1's liner notes, this song has the following credits:

Lyrics by Amy Foster-Gillies (NB: CD version spells her name 'Fillies', not 'Gillies' Music by David Foster.

There is no mention of Beyonce writing the song, even though her publishing is listed.

The following link to ASCAP's database also shows that Beyonce does not write this song:

[1] (type 'Stand up for love' in the form under 'Title'

This information needs to be rectified.

Koalaroc 19:16, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

She probably stole the writing credits. Thats what she does. She did it with "Listen" to try to win an Oscar (because she certainly can't act) so she stole the credits and she got caught rightfully so. The Oscars are way smarter than the Grammys. Oscars actually do their research. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.163.216.82 (talk) 01:20, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speak My Mind

Pls dont fully protect this one. We want to contribute.BritandBeyonce 05:25, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Um... wasn't Speak My Mind just some sort of fan compilation? I've never seen anything to the effect of it being anything else. Ian-sama 21:19, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] so she "always fell down the stairs," huh?

what is the significance of that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.45.204.81 (talk) 16:42, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Trivial Edits and Vandalism

To the "falling" and "flashing" thing, it will not catapult the concerned to stardome. It has no signifance so better put it in the Tour page, in the Trivia section. Actually it can be seen there already. Further, lets edit this page with "meat". And with regards to vandalism, again, there are some "users" or "unestablished users" who put some derogatory phrases and/or texts in the page that somehow discredit the reputation of the concerned person if seen by searchers or people. Sorry but I already put a semi-protection tag on this to somehow "control" this "uncontrolled" vandalism. BritandBeyonce 13:25, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] LAtina magazine interview

In 2007 in an interview with Latina magazine Beyonce stated that "With the Latino stations, there was so much love and everyone is so genuine. I'm just jealous that I wasn't born Latina. I wish I had been because the culture is so beautiful. I'm very grateful Latinos are embracing me." This has caused an uproar in the black community, especially among young black women who view Ms. Knowles as a the quintessential role model for their demographic. [2] 64.131.205.111 17:09, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Please state if you want to add something in the page or something to delete. BritandBeyonce 07:36, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
I think that this should be added in the controversy section. 64.131.205.111 02:19, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

What uproar? Never heard this. Then again I don't really follow celeb news except when I'm board at work like now. Just because she said she was jealous does not mean she does not want to be Black. There are many Black Latina's. I think she just loves the culture, which is heavily African influenced. [Nita September 25, 2007 (UTC))]

your right what is the big deal salsa music itself is west african really look at celia cruz she is black and she is like the mother of salsa music, and yes many latinos or black look at big papi david ortiz from boston red sox as an example and beyonce could easily be mulatto she obviouly has european admixture somewhere in her family tree--Mikmik2953 21:55, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Yes Salsa, Samba, Rumba many of the great dances and music originated from Africa. I love it. I think Beyonce is influenced by the current "latin explosion" in Hollywood or entertainment community. Which does not often give homage to the African ancestry of the Latin people and culture. While they salsa and sashay to african drum beats! The entertainment industry tends to be negative toward the Black people and their contributions to the industry. Beyonce is young and under the Eurocentric influence. But she is still growing as a human. She is not out all night at clubs without her panties and making public displays of drunkeness.

Beyonce has a very common background of Black Americans. A mixture of African, European and Native American. Beyonce cannot "easily" be mulatto due to the fact that not one of her parents is white. However, in other parts of the world like Cuba they may view her as such. But even by American standards many of the worlds "mulattos" would be seen as Black or African. [Nita Reads 12/23/2007 11:50pm]

--Hey there is a of hispanics who are not latino or latina...she's much closer to it than you think...look up latin and maybe you'll come across French freaking jealous jibaras--lupe

She's a hit to Latino men....white men...Asian men...even gay men love her and I guess it's hard for latinas to live up to that idea of beauty.. she is considered more like a mulatta/morena than a black woman in the latin world...and that type of woman's beauty is above the stereotypical mestiza(white with indian blood). latinas love to say she's fake...so was Selena...Jlo...Shakira...all wore extensions..Selena & Jlo had the booty implants & Lipo...plus facial work Selena wouldn't allow anyone to see her without makeup so she had tattoo makeup..Shaikra's weave in "whenever wherever" was a trainwreck you could see the tracks and it didn't match the color of her real hair. tell the truth Beyonce is a beautiful woman...she's goofy as hell but she's a beautiful woman period there is no latina who is her equal. --a latina

[edit] Can't We Move On

Why don't we separate beyoncé, kelly, and michelle from DC3 articles and just make small notations. There doesn't need to be half a page dedicated to Destiny's Child. Beyonce has won 7 grammys so can we let these women grow on their own.

The reference to Destiny's Child is too long in this "Beyonce" article. There should be just a paragragh or two on the group and if the reader wants to get more knowledge on Destiny's Child, they could look up that article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.192.176.30 (talk) 21:02, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Requested Move

The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was No consensus to move. Húsönd 23:52, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Beyoncé KnowlesBeyoncé

  • Support or similar articles to be moved. Various other artists' articles are titled by their staged name (see Ashanti, Ciara, Madonna). Since this singer's stage name is her first name, this article should be renamed as Beyoncé. Also, in WP:RM, I noticed a fellow user had attempted to change an article's title (WWE wrestler Tazz), to his real name. It seems to be rejected. So, shouldn't this article be moved, to prevent this hypocrisy? --Jw21/PenaltyKillah(discussedits) 16:30, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Strong Oppose. The full name is usually used in the media. Loom91 11:45, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
What about those articles I just listed, like Ashanti, and Ciara? They should be renamed to Ashanti Douglas, Ciara Harris, and Madonna Ciccone then. I'm just trying to prevent Wikipedia from having a double standard. --Jw21/PenaltyKillah(discussedits) 16:30, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Oppose - artist is known by both first name alone and first & last name together, unlike the two examples cites. JPG-GR 04:21, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Actually, Beyoncé was only known by her full name during her years in Destiny's Child, and only used her first name from 2003 onwards, when she became a solo artist. --Jw21/PenaltyKillah(discussedits) 06:35, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
She continues to use her full name (inconsistently) for most television/movie credits. Dekimasuよ! 14:46, 25 September 2007 (UTC)'
But since her main career is singing, and most people would most likely browse this page on information of her musical career, the article's title should be more relevant. --Jw21/PenaltyKillah(discussedits) 20:18, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Strong Support: She is known as simply "Beyonce", her album covers say "Beyonce", she is simply known as "Beyonce". Jgcarter 03:22, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Strong oppose While Beyoncé may be the name she uses as a solo artist, as an actress she is still known as Beyoncé Knowles. Since she uses both professionally, we should go with her full name. AniMate 01:14, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
She uses both professionally? Makes me wonder why all her album, signgle, and DVD covers say Beyonce... Jgcarter 13:25, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
I'm assuming you're talking about her music DVDs. All of her theatrical releases list both names. Makes me wonder if you actually read what I wrote or not, as I specifically said this was in regards to her acting career. AniMate 22:07, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
I said music DVDs. Such as Live in Wembly, and the B'Day Anthology album...makes me wonder if you read what I said. Jgcarter 22:18, 25 September 2007 (UTC) EDIT: Okay, I re-read and now I understand what you mean but since she is primarily a singer, we should stick with her stage name. Jgcarter 22:21, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

[edit] DVD

Wneedham02 just copied The Beyoncé Experience: Live in LA to Beyoncé: Live at Staples Center without any prior talk. The page looks so similar-wasn't redirected. Please fix.BritandBeyonce (talkcontribs) 00:37, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Done. BritandBeyonce (talkcontribs) 02:26, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Best-selling female group of all time.

take this out please Destiny's child is the best selling female group of all time period. It's very offensive, and take out the boring statement in the beginning. Who ever put it there doesn't know what they are talking about, songs like Survivor and Independent Women are what got you listening to Beyonce in the first place.

[edit] Writing Credits

THere was quite a bit of controveersy about her stealing songwriting credits. How come only a small piece is mentioned. She lost her credit for Listen at the Oscars, she got caught lying about Irreplaceable, yet none of that is mentioned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shoop85 (talkcontribs) 02:38, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

If you could supply a reliable source, it would be better so we could move to editing. --βritand&βeyonce (talkcontribs) 05:56, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Even if you find a source, some stan is just gonna remove it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dswhite85 (talkcontribs) 18:01, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

I can find sources. Its isn't hard, I mean it was all over the news and blogs about the Oscar fiasco. But of course, some obsessed Beyonce STAN will just remove it and the administrator won't care.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.163.216.82 (talk) 01:20, 29 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.228.197.229 (talk)

I've added a source about Matthew Knowles trying to get beyonce credit for an unreleased song she hadn't written, and I'll try to find a good source re:irreplaceable.Nathan86 (talk) 04:10, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
The section is enough to justify these issues. (To Nathan) Please provide reliable sources per WP:RS. That "darkchild" site is not reliable and the issue we are talking about here is sensitive and must be covered by a third party source. --Efe (talk) 08:59, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
The OSCAR issue is stated now and other issue. More issues would just crowd the section. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 08:59, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
How is it not a reliable source? It contains a 2004 interview with Fats. My statement in the article was that Fats claimed Matthew tried to get Beyonce credit for a song she didn't write. He DID claim that. And while stans such as yourself don't like to have too much criticism of their idols on their pages, the fact is it DOES belong on the page, it does not "Crowd the section" and is a separate issue from the Oscar one (getting credit for minimal input into a song vs. getting credit for contributing NOTHING to a song). Nathan86 (talk) 10:31, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] How to pronounce her name

I followed the link that was going to tell how to say her name but it different from hwo its shown on the main article.

The page says bi jan sei The link says be yawn say which is right. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jammy2 (talkcontribs) 19:41, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

That was also I was thinking. How come the page says that where in fact, per source, it's the other way. --βritand&βeyonce (talkcontribs) 05:59, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

I think anyone who can't pronounce her name must be living under a rock for the last 5 years!--Seán Travers (talk) 17:43, 12 June 2008 (UTC)Seán Travers

[edit] Picture

The top picture makes her look like she has one arm like the other arm is cut off.

What song is she performing in the image? --βritandβeyonce (talkcontribs) 07:45, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Either "Dangerously in Love" or "Flaws and All", I believe. But I must say that's a HORRIBLE picture. The previous pic of her performing "Listen" was much better. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ian-sama (talkcontribs) 04:56, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
Why did you consider it as horrible? Any clarifications so we can have a better point to address with? By the way, who knows what is she perfoming so that we can use it in the other articles? Also, please put captions on what song she is performing on the images on Commons. Please... --βritandβeyonce (talkcontribs) 12:59, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, her arm does look like it was amputated at the elbow. And you can't really see her face, and her eyes look awful... ugh, there are too many good pictures of Beyoncé for this to be it. Also, I'm not sure if she's performing "Dangerously in Love" or "Flaws and All", so I really can't say. Ian-sama (talk) 09:41, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Ah, I got your point. Look at B'Day, I put "Flaws and All" in the image caption. hehe. --BritandBeyonce (talk) 09:45, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Personal Life?

Why is there no information about her personal life like there is about most popular artists? there's no mention of jay-z at all outside of their musical collaborations even though they've been together for at least 5 years.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Derekc06 (talk • contribs) 05:07, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Whenever the personal life section has been added, it's all been unsourced material. Until the information is properly sourced, any material about her personal life has to stay out of the article. Acalamari 17:53, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Also let's face it. Beyonce' Knowles is fine - a true dream girl. It is too bad that dinner with Beyonce' contest was waisted on two people with an agenda. It is really not fair. I am sure many people would ecstatic just to go to dinner with her (and her family) and have fun. And perhpaps be floored by her star power...! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.241.194.66 (talk) 22:17, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

it's worldwide knowledge that beyonce is with jay-z, yet there's no mention of it here. you're telling me there is not one 'source' that can be used? i don't believe that for a minute! 194.221.133.226 (talk) 15:54, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

It is almost as if the people editing her page are working for her. There are credible sources to verify her relationship with Jay-Z. Her own interviews, her mother's. So whoever keeps deleting the personal life portions are being ridiculous. In that case you need to go to Jay-Z's page and delete his personal life —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ahatter1981 (talkcontribs) 15:23, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Lately, I passed this article to PR and they suggested to merge it to relevant section because its too short. ABout the wedding, per WP:BLP, we need the strongest source for it to be included in the page. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 01:22, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Genres

Why does everyone think that she just sngs r&b and soul music ? That's not the case. You all are making her one-dimensional and boring. She sings pop too and is considered one of the driving forces behind pop music. She also sings funk. Let me give you a list of funk songs by her. Greenlight/ Crazy in Love/ Work It Out/ Deja Vu/ Suga Mama/ And Get Me Bodied is a funk influenced song.

She only sings POP and R&B. Where is this SOUL? Where is this GOSPEL? And those aren't funk, those are typical R&B/Hiphop that is all over the radio. Stop trying to make her out to be something she is not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dswhite85 (talkcontribs) 18:11, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

This is ridiculous. Which STAN keeps adding all these genres? SOUL??? SOFT ROCK??? FUNK??? This is article is becoming a joke, a fansite. Beyonce has done POP, R&B, and HIP HOP. Anything else is stretching to a point of fanboyism. An administrator needs to do something about this.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.163.216.82 (talk) 01:20, 29 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.228.197.229 (talk)

Why is it that pop and R&B always go hand in hand? What mid-tempo pop songs has she released! Sure some of her upbeat songs like Crazy In Love and Deja Vu would be considered dance pop because of its commercial success and dance rhythm! Irreplaceable could be considered soft rock because of the slow strumming guitar in the background! I think the genres Beyonce should be under is R&B, dance pop, funk, go-go, hip hop, hip hop soul, soul and soft rock! I don't think she should be considered Latin pop because the only reason "Beautiful Liar" is Latin pop because of Shakira's contribution to the song! I know " Beautiful Liar" is Beyonce's song, it would not be Latin pop if Shakira wasn't involved!--Seán Travers (talk) 17:58, 12 June 2008 (UTC)Seán Travers

[edit] Deja Vu

It seems the article was already been left by its original editors, so I am editing it now. However, refering to sources, Jerkins started the production since spring in 2005. Was Deja Vu been recorded since that time or during the B'Day sessions? --BritandBeyonce (talk) 07:05, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Starring in Movies

The intro says she starred in The Pink Panther. That is not a "Starring" role. THats more like a cameo. It seems someone is trying to make her out to be this highly successful A-list movie star, but she has yet to carry a movie on her name alone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dswhite85 (talkcontribs) 18:03, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Its Confirmed She's In a New Movie Playing Etta James

Beyonce will be playing Etta James in her upcoming biopic. I will add it to her filmography.

[edit] Music Blogs

Is it appropriate to use music blogs as references because if not then some of the info needs to be deleted. PhoenixPrince (talk) 07:24, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

I would say no, it isn't. Carl.bunderson (talk) 07:30, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Ok because there is some information on her next studio album that comes from a blog and it doesn't even make since. For instance the section says that the producers who were hired to work on her next album have put spears on hold, but Her cd has already been finished and she obviously has not been working on anymore material lately. So I'm going to go on ahead and edit some of the info which seems to be pov anyway. PhoenixPrince (talk) 23:59, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Racial Origins

It is said that both her parents are Afrian-American. While her dad is so her mother is of a mixed Creole backround Yes her mother is black but she is nonetheless of also mixed French,Spanish, and Native American descent. That statement should be withdrawn. It even said that her Grandparents were Creole.

Her mother doesnt have to be mixed with all those races to be creole. She could just be native american, french and black. Also as a person of creole descent you should know that creole is not a race its a culture. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jammy2 (talkcontribs) 18:40, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

hello guys and to the one who made this. It is awesome but it succumbs the article; its big. It could be scaled down or just depict through words, as in prose? --Efe (talk) 10:02, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

  • FYI the guy who made this is now blocked indefinitely - mostly for trying to place his family tree into Wikipedia. Forget it. andy (talk) 16:56, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Merger proposal

Proposed merger of Speak My Mind to Beyoncé Knowles, per WP:MUSIC. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 13:52, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't think that should be added because it's not really relevant and it was never really officially released. She's great without that mixtape. Does anybody know how to change picture's for people. Not for Beyonce but i want to change another artist. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Prince8907 (talkcontribs) 02:48, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

I do think it would be better when the Speak my mind page would be included on the Beyoncé page, since Speak my Mind is such a small article. It is however relevant, since the mixtape is quite known. While not officially released, many Beyoncé fans own it. --Irups (talk) 18:27, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Personal life - again

Ok, I added a sourced section on "Personal life" since it's just ridiculous not to have one. It's mostly on her and Jay-Z, cause that's what there is. I've tried to use the most reliable sources available on the subject at least, and I also tried to make it sound not too tabloidy, yet not too bland and uninteresting. Hope I succeeded. Lampman Talk to me! 00:06, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

I removed a recently added section on the marriage licence thing because it was unsourced, and according to WP:BLP, any even vaguely contentious material on living people must be sourced. If anybody wants to add it with a source, it's here: http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20187705,00.html but personally I think the whole "unnamed source" thing is a bit dodgy. Lampman Talk to me! 23:53, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
If its still a rumor, better not add. --Efe (talk) 09:47, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
She and Jay-Z got married, so I think that that would be worth putting into the article. We just need to find a source... 68DANNY2 (talk) 20:29, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Per WP:BLP, the couple must personally announce that they're married. News reports should cite their statement for it to be considered a strong source. --Efe (talk) 06:39, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
It's now a matter of public record, since the marriage license has officially been filed. I added it to the article and sourced it to People.com's report about the filing. It's not the same as having it come "officially" from either of them, but since it's public record now... --InDeBiz1 (talk) 15:05, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
The People article does not say anything about either of their names changing upon the marriage. Please stop unilaterally changing her surname to "Carter" unless you have a cite that specifically states that she has legally changed it herself. Ariadne55 (talk) 15:23, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
It's a matter of public record. Call the clerk's office where it was filed, if you'd like further confirmation. --InDeBiz1 (talk) 16:12, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
I agree that the two are married. Marriage does not cause an automatic name change for women anywhere in the America today. The bride must take some other action beyond simply getting married. Some states, and I think New York is one of them, have a space on the marriage license where either spouse can choose a completely new name, but you have presented no evidence that Beyoncé Knowles did that. You keep saying to check the "public record", but the license has only just been filed, so there's no reasonable place to check it (short of harassing the Scarsdale clerk's office). She may well have changed her name, but there is no available evidence of it at present. Also, I do not appreciate your revert of my last edit, as it was done in a way that is usually reserved for reverting vandalism. Ariadne55 (talk) 16:33, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
I'm not here to worry about your feelings. I'm here to accurately edit the encyclopedia. The change IS accurate, point blank. How do you know that I HAVEN'T made an inquiry about this subject with the clerk's office? It's, as I've pointed out several times, a matter of public record, so if someone asks, they have to answer. Also, in regard to your comments about the edit, you're wrong. A simple "undo" can be used for many different purposes. Now, had I used rollback, on the other hand, you might have a beef. Cheers. --InDeBiz1 (talk) 17:15, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Personal phone calls are not sufficient support for changing articles. As you say, how do we know that you did or did not make such an inquiry? How would we know what the clerk's response was? As I've said, she may have changed her name, but there's no reasonable verifiable way to know for sure yet. Ariadne55 (talk) 17:31, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Beautiful Nightmare

[3] New leaked track, possibly from new Album. speculated to be a teaser track.--Saidr (talk) 19:27, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Too fancrufty:

A new song titled Beautiful Nightmare was leaked online March 26, 2008, on her official website she states:

"Yesterday, "Beautiful Nightmare," a demo I've been working on for possible inclusion on my next album, leaked on some websites. I want to thank all my fans for the positive response to the song, but I want to tell you that this is just a work in progress. It is not my time to put out new music. If you really want to hear some really great music now, you have to support my girls Kelly, Michelle and my sister Solange. Kelly just re-released her album digitally in the US, so check out "Ms. Kelly: Diva Deluxe." Michelle is about to put out the first single, "We Break The Dawn," from her album and Solange's single, "I Decided," is already one of my favorites."

--Efe (talk) 11:10, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

wooo! they're putting it back. --Efe (talk) 03:02, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Going GA

So far, I have removed two sources in the lead as they are potential non-WP:RS. Im starting to source and copyedit and improve in the solo career section. The whole article needs complete revamp. --Efe (talk) 03:55, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Headers

I would like to propose proper arrangement of event in Beyonce's musical and film career because it seems they're very much related and needs to be in one section. Like Dreamgirls, it heavily inspired B'Day which should be tackled before going into the proper detailing of B'Day. Likewise, there was a break in Destiny's Child's musical career when the three go on solo; therefore, mentioning Dangerously in Love should occur before Destiny Fulfilled as well as Beyonce's musical hiatus, which, of course, could be attributed to the recording of the group's final album and filming Dreamgirls. After such, we can continue to B'Day, down to re-release and the group's mini reunion, to third album and its relation to Cadillac Records, which is Beyonce's upcoming film. To other film's which Beyonce appeared, it could be inserted to related sections. Any thoughts? --Efe (talk) 05:32, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Revamped

I revamped the article, while hoping for someone to comment on the above discussions. See the new version on my sandbox. Its revamped but not yet copy edited. More contents to be added, but the sourcing is quite fine. Please feel free to comment here: User talk:Efe/My Sandbox. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 07:29, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Now, I've finally pasted my version to the main article. I believe you have lost of comments/suggestions/objection, so please go directly to the PR page. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 12:38, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Untitled

Hey, I work for SonyBMG and I'm in charge of Affiliate Services for MyPlay.com (SonyBMG's on-demand video music network), we'd like to post links to artist pages (Beyonce included, her's is: www.myplay.com/artists/beyonce). Please let me know how I would be able to do this and/or if you require more information.

Someone please edit the opening paragraph. Someone delete the part that says, "She is a dirty slut and love to fuck sleezy men. She is a hoe."

[edit] That picture

Could someone PLEASE find a better picture of her? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.209.123.126 (talk) 01:50, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

It's quite a good image, I think: what do you believe is wrong with it? Besides, it's a free image, which is even better. Good quality and free. Acalamari 01:57, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
I can probably ask the author of that if she still have images of beyonce which can suffice your taste. but for now, let that picture rule the page. its quite good, formal attire, nice resolution, and most of all, its free. It was copyrighted before and I asked the author to re-license it with cc-by-sa, and she did. Thanks to her. --Efe (talk) 05:33, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Good work on getting the image. Acalamari 17:08, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

The current picture has been suggested to be replaced. Please see the peer review page. --Efe (talk) 06:40, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Rumors

I have been hearing rumors that Beyonce is pregnant. Check this out: http://www.teenhollywood.com/d/173071/1055/beyonce-takes-lessons-in-motherhood-from-sister.html Is this just a rumor? XxH2Oluverxx (talk) 12:02, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

But still, its a rumor. We'll keep an eye on that. Lets see if its true. Beyonce is scared of giving birth; I don't believe she's preggy this very immature time, I mean immature because she still have her third album on the works, Cadillac Records and the other film. --Efe (talk) 05:35, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ongoing litigation

A dismissed legal proceeding is not "resurrected" but "reinstated." And a "jury hearing" is more commonly known as a jury trial, unless its a term of art specific to intellectual property law that I'm unaware of (I admit I'm not an IP attorney).

[edit] Beyonce Lyrics

I was just thinking that we should add a side note for like lyrics of beyonce's singles. if you dont wanna do it then i'd be glad to do it on my own. what do u think???

Bhoodednative (talk) 02:04, 16 April 2008 (UTC)Blaqk Hooded NativeBhoodednative (talk) 02:04, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

If you mean adding the lyrics of her songs to the article, then no, we shouldn't add them, as the lyrics are copyrighted. Acalamari 02:12, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Grammar issues

The grammar in this article is really bad. I'll start copyediting. I seriously doubt that in its present condition, it would pass a GA nom.--Esprit15d • talkcontribs 01:24, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Sorry for being a non-native English speaker. While the article is still on PR, hopefully, grammar issues will be rectified. You can start copy editing now or highlight them in the PR page. Thank you very much. --Efe (talk) 01:29, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
most likely Ebonics, the primary language of beyonce's fans. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PatrickJ83 (talkcontribs) 00:41, 26 April, 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Weave

Can someone find a reliable source about Beyonce's weaves and lacefronts? I mean, we all know she's balding from over-bleaching and straightening

http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4815/1381/1600/0jojgfi1.jpg http://mediatakeout.com/Exclusives/Beyonce_Weave.html

and we have photo evidence of a wig malfunction http://news.softpedia.com/news/Beyonce-039-s-Weave-Is-Falling-Apart-41959.shtml

but this STAN http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Efe keeps deleting it.

Oh, and it IS relevant to the article (her deal with L'Oreal was mainly to promote haircare products....)

Nathan86 (talk) 03:53, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Whatever you call me, STAN or moron, its your opinion and I don't bother with that as long as I do not commit WP policy breach here. Now, I'll challenge you Nathan. Per WP:BLP, harsh contents must be supported by the strongest source possible. Those sources you presented do not pass against WP:RS, and those contents you kept on adding, are sensitive issues covered only by a fan site. Obviously, Im a Beyonce fan and I do not practice concealing her alleged "stealing" of lyrics. Beyonce is still alive and I'll be hapy adding those claims if you can provide Wikipedia the strongest source from a writer, not just a writer, but with authority to say those claims. --Efe (talk) 05:15, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Again, I will remove those contents you added. Add it later if you present reliable and verifiable sources. --Efe (talk) 05:17, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] GA Review = On Hold

This article is well written although the only issue is that, the article needs copy editing for grammar style, cohesion, tone or spelling. Once this main issue has been fixed I will be happy to put this article as a good article. JayJ47 (talk) 05:44, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] GA Review changed to Second Opinion

I have changed this nomination's status to Second Opinion, as I am not sure whether or not to pass or fail this article, after reading the article a couple of more times. Please be patient while another reviewer takes a look at the article. He or she will make the final decision. Thank you. JayJ47 (talk) 06:41, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

I am in the process of an extensive copy edit in an external edit, so it should be good to go when the next reviewer gets to it, at least in terms of spelling and such. --InDeBiz1 (talk) 07:00, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
I believe grmmar is what makes this article stinks to other's reading. --Efe (talk) 07:05, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Proper main image

These previous days, the main image of this biography has always been changed and reverted. Below are images that were used before and lets discuss what is the best appropriate.

[edit] 1st image

[edit] 2nd image

I'm partial to the second image from the left, as it shows her with lighter hair, which is what she is best known for. --InDeBiz1 (talk) 05:31, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Agree, I think it beats the 4th due to the lack of hat (as she's known for hair...). dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 08:58, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Comment I think the main goal of presenting image here is that readers can identify there face (this is image is not). --Efe (talk) 14:10, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 3rd image

[edit] 4th image

She's looking at the camera, its a close-up and you can clearly make out what she looks like; its the ideal infobox pic. The other pics can be scattered across the article if need be. indopug (talk) 10:04, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Excuse me?

"Despite all her accomplishments, Knowles has been a source of rumors and a subject of public ridicule throughout her career. As one of the most media-exposed black artists in the United States, Knowles has often received criticism due to racism and sexism." (in Style and Image "Image" section)

Racism and sexism? Public ridicule? So basically, this line indirectly suggests that Black female celebrities in the US are automatically subjected to "racist" and "sexist" critiques? Assuming that is true, then why isn't the above line stated in the articles of Janet Jackson, Tyra Banks, Oprah, Halle Berry etc? Hail 1999 (talk) 19:07, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Those are all sourced and not bias as its not an opinion of editors in this particular article. If you found those bios of celebrities you mentioned imbalance, you might want this comments be posted on their respective talk pages. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 11:12, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
It does happen to Janet, superbowl, hello? Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 05:00, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
I've read the checked out the so-called "sources" and they are completely biased. Yes, saying that Beyonce's criticisms stem from "racism and sexism" is just an opinion. The articles cited as sources were blatantly subjective. And don't use Janet as an example please. 222.164.220.10 (talk) 06:13, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] My Thoughts

I haven't finished reading the article yet. I'm commenting on each section as I read. The first section seems to be well-written. I've done a few minor adjustments. The only thing that strikes me so far is inconsistency— sometimes the article refers to Beyonce as "Beyonce" and sometimes it refers to her as "knowles". We need to choose one and keep it consistent. Secondly, the article refers to Knowles' parents by there first names. That needs to be changed to either Matthew Knowles or simply Knowles. The same goes for her mother. Orane (talk) 16:27, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Per policy, it must be Knowles. For her parents, it would be better to use their full names to avoid confusion (If Beyonce was used, we can use Knowles only for them). --Efe (talk) 02:36, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Beyoncé Knowles-Carter

If she is married to Jay-Z, shouldn't se get his last name? I am goign to go ahead and assume it is hyphanated, like most stars. Does anyone know if she is accepting to this name. Also, if you see fit, can you put in the artcle of her name change. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.179.39.221 (talk) 11:53, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

We don't know if either of them changed their last names. The page should not be changed unless we have proof of a name change. Ariadne55 (talk) 12:24, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
This has been discussed before. Please refer to the above discussion. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 03:14, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

No....it wasn't. It was talking about her name in relation to being changed in the article from Beyonce to Knowles. And, you stated how their parents full name would be best. It said nothing about her marriage name. Maybe you should read the discussion and question a little more, hm?71.166.14.253 (talk) 04:12, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

That discussion cover's the same stuff. --Efe (talk) 03:59, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
