Beyton

Beyton is a village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk, England. According to Eilert Ekwall the meaning of the village name is homestead by brook or Beaga's homestead.The Domesday Book records the population of Beyton in 1086 to be 1 free man. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 656. The village is about seven miles east of Bury St Edmunds, on the A14 road.
The church of Beyton All Saints is one of 38 existing round-tower churches in Suffolk.
[edit] Beyton Middle School
Beyton Middle School is a middle school for 9-13 year olds in West Suffolk. It currently enrolls about 800 pupils in Years 5 to 8. The majority of students come from surrounding villages and mostly go onto Thurston Community College or Stowupland High School.
It has a swimming pool and is a good school for sport but it is unfortunately under threat because of the new two tier system in the area.
Every year Beyton Middle School holds a cross country event where each pupil runs against the other pupils in there year.
