Beyond the Break is a new drama series, set in Hawaii, which debuted on The N in June 2006. Beyond the Break is about four women in the sport of professional surfing. Birdie Scott (Tiffany Hines), Lacey Farmer (Natalie Ramsey), Dawn Preston (Suzie Pollard), and Kai Kealoha (Sonya Balmores) must overcome their differences in order to capture surf stardom. David Chokachi, Baywatch star, also stars as the girls' surfing instructor.[1] Ross Thomas and Jason Tam round out the cast as two male surfers who have their eyes on Birdie and Dawn. Michael Copon has a recurring role as both Kai and Lacey's love interest. Season 2 premiered with an hour long episode January 5, 2007. The theme song for Beyond the Break is "Car Song" by the New York City band, Telenovela Star
The show debuted in June 2006. There are 20 episodes that have finished production. Season one consisted of ten episodes and the remainder ten episodes are for Season 2. The show has started production on season 3, consisting of 14 episodes, and premieres in early 2008. One new episode confirmed in the third season is called "Work." It has been confirmed by Suzie Pollard. Work is the 13th episode.[2]
Throughout Late 2007 and early 2008 there have been many cancellation rumors largely due to the fact that the The-N has not shown any promos for a new season or rarely airs reruns of the show. The N made a promo saying that there are free episodes of Beyond the Break on The Click (The N's broadband media player), possibly because of these rumors.
