Anima: Beyond Fantasy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anima: Beyond Fantasy is a Spanish fantasy role-playing game developed by Carlos B. García Aparicio and Anima Project Studios and published by Edge Entertainment in 2005.

Inspired by well-known Japanese video roleplaying games such as Final Fantasy and Suikoden, the world of Anima uses manga-like art, but also features traditional Western fantasy elements, including magic and medieval arms, combined with an emphasis on martial arts and Eastern concepts of honor codes and mysticism.

[edit] Translations

The game is to be translated in English and published by Fantasy Flight Games.[1]. Although the game was originally slated for an August 2006 release, multiple release dates have come and gone without the game being released. The website currently tells of a Summer 2008 release.

According to an email by Jeremy Stomberg of Fantasy Flight Games:

"There is no official translation of the "Anima: Beyond Fantasy" RPG in PDF. The only official English translation is in the computers at FFG. By the time the FFG translation was ready, Edge (the Spanish publisher) already had the 2nd Edition finished, so we decided to release the 2nd Edition so gamers would have the most up-to-date book. We expect it out this summer."

There are also German, French and Italian translations.
