[edit] She's a Betty
One of the great mysteries of the last decade (the 90s) is how this character would become a euphemism for "cool chick"- ("Wow, she's a Betty!")
I do not see it. Not at all. I guess this is the same taste in attractiveness that made Sandra Bullock a star. Go figure.
Personally, I think it's because Betty was always more approachable and personable than Veronica, hence she is the kind of person that people are supposed to want to date. I didn't see anything in this article mentioning that Chick Cooper used to also show up in "Little Archie." Cee 20:55, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Much of the slang usage of "Betty" probably stems more from Betty Grable then from Betty Cooper ... if anything more recent slang usage is probably an amalgamation of the 1940s usage meaning "gorgeous" and the Archie comics ideals of a multi-faceted woman with "spunk" and looks. -- hossman 21:44, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sources
This article could probably use some sources, difficult though they can be for such a large and often contradictory comics universe. In particular, the relationships section needs a few references for when Betty has dated some of the other characters.
I'd like to add that I ripped out a section of fanwank discussing Betty in fanfiction, because that's not important in an encyclopedic article. If there is a notable resource discussing those possibilities, it should be added, but referencing fanfiction pairings is not acceptable.Rebochan 18:51, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

- Agreed. For now, let's use the official source such as from archiecomics. The relationship between her and others beside Archie in this article are mostly from the official source. HoneyBee 10:53, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Edits
Is it true there was one issue from the 70s in which Betty wore a top low cut enough to reveal that she wasn't wearing a bra; reprints later added an undershirt? should that be added to the trivia? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sdphost (talk • contribs) 16:09, 6 March 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Betty's ESP
She turns out to have ESP after being unjustly accused of looking at Miss Grundy's test answers.
(Wikipedia article on Betty)
Didn't this only happen in one comic? The way it's expressed in the article, it's like Betty always had ESP (and never lost it). (In said comic, she gained it because Dilton's dictionary fell on her head and lost it because a football hit her head at the end of the same comic.)
Should it be mentioned? I think Jughead's also had ESP in at least one comic. Fluffybun 20:49, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
