Betty Tancock

Elizabeth "Betty" Tancock (née Edwards)[1] (February 22, 1911 – c. 2005) was a Canadian swimmer who competed in the Olympic games in 1932 in Los Angeles. She competed in the 1932 Summer Olympics in 400m Freestyle, but did not win a medal. She also competed in the 4x100m Freestyle, where she placed 4th. She also represented Canada in the 1930 and 1934 British Empire Games.[1]

Tancock was inducted as a member of the University of Toronto Sports Hall of Fame in 1990.[1] From 2005 until her death, she was Canada's oldest living Olympic competitor.[2][3] After her death, Claude Saunders became Canada's oldest living Olympian.[4][5]
